storm and hail damage roof replacement

Storm Damage to Your Home?

After a storm, homeowners often put off roof replacement until small problems transform into major catastrophes. Failing to fix surface breakages can cause the structure to collapse.

At best, that can cause wind and hail damage to your furnishings and architecture. At worst, they can injure you and your family. Mother Nature has a destructive streak, but with the right roofing company, you can quickly replace any damage and make your home safe again. 1-800-HANSONS is that company.

Never worry about a roofing replacement again. Guaranteed.

When you choose 1-800-HANSONS to protect your home’s exterior, you get a Lifetime Guarantee that’s unmatched in the industry.

Got a question? We have the answer.

What should I look for on a roof after a storm?

Look for tears, missing shingles, and exposed nails. Shiny asphalt and split shingles are two more signs of storm damage.

When checking heavy rain damage, check your ceilings for water spots and mold. Indoor water and hail damage might be a sign that your entire roofing system is in the early stages of failure.

Is it safe for me to inspect my roof?

Getting up on a roof can be dangerous. It’s not recommended that you do this without the proper equipment and experience. Most roofing contractors can do this for you (maybe even for free). It’s best you contact a pro.

Does insurance pay for storm and hail damage to a roof?

Storm, wind and hail damage is covered by standard home insurance in many states. However, it’s best you contact your insurance company to see how your policy is set up.

Also, make sure you contact them before making any repairs.

How long does it take to replace a roof?

Generally, a roof can be replaced in about two days.

How do I know if my roof needs repairs or replacement?

If the only problem your roof has is missing shingles, it could just need repairs. Anything more, including problems with the underlayment, probably requires a new roof.

A qualified roof inspector should take a look to assess the situation. You certainly don’t want to have repairs made (a short term solution) when there is more trouble that isn’t visible from the outside of your home.

What are ice dams?

The typical ice dam is a buildup of ice that forms near the eaves or gutters as a result of interior heat escaping into the attic and through the roof decking. The heat melts the snow and ice on the upper areas of the roof resulting in meltwater. This melted water runs to cold, lower areas or eaves and depending on the conditions refreeze.
